Broadberry's line of low power servers provide high levels of performance while also maintaining industry-leading power efficiency, allowing you to get the best out of your systems while keeping costs and energy usage at a minimum. It has become more and more important to businesses to save energy, both to keep down costs of maintenance and to become more environmentally friendly.
Many low power systems on the market have a negative side effect, in that their energy saving nature leads to a large decrease in overall performance. Broadberry's systems lead the market not only in their energy saving efficiency, but also their very high standard of performance.
Unsurprisingly, our lower power servers require less energy than their higher power equivalents. This will lead to you making a lot of money via savings, especially if you use your server for a long period of time (which you likely will).
Saving energy by using less of it also means that our systems are a lot greener friendly than other alternatives on the market. Having the same quality of performance while also saving energy and helping the environment is a real incentive. These systems also generally also require less maintenance, allowing you to not only save money and energy but to also save time.
We don't sacrifice performance for low energy consumption. In this market low power often leads to lower quality performance but our products buck that trend and bring you the best of both worlds.
To be able to successfully save energy, but also keep a high level of performance, the latest technology is needed. Broadberry take advantage of the latest technological breakthroughs, making the most of the newest technology available to create the highest quality server setups. The components in our products are high quality and powerful, while also maintaining a level of efficiency.
Our line features low power server solutions are equipped with hot swappable drives, so you can feel secure that you always have a safety net, and you won't ever lose out should an error occur. We also feature server solutions that are VMware compatible, as well as solutions with very high RAM capacity. A redundant power supply option is available on many of our low power servers, as well as short depth options. Whichever features are going to fit best for you and your business needs, we have the perfect option available.
Increased low power server usage can have a positive effect on the environment. Over time, a lowered demand for electricity created by power plants can lead to less toxic fumes in the air and less damage to ecosystems.
The main component behind the amount of energy is used is the processor. Here at Broadberry we base the majority of our low powered servers around the Atom processor family. Atom processors use the latest technology to provide very high levels of speed and performance, all the while avoiding having a low level of power consumption.
Powered by Intel's processor family, not only will our systems keep your initial costs down but they also make a significant improve on your total cost of ownership (TCO).
Atom is a microprocessor component that makes a big difference in the amount of energy able to be saved. It is small, relatively cheap and is ideal for improving battery life. Not only is the initial cost of the server kept down by using this component, but the overall TCO is reduced by making use of Atom.
If you require even more processing power than is available from the Intel Atom family of processors, we also provide a number of low power servers that are based on the more powerful Xeon E3 and E5 range of processors.
You have the option to configure within a number of different form factors. These are 1U, 2U, 3U, 4U and Pedestal. This variety of available form factors allow you the utmost flexibility to find the perfect low power server for you and your business.
Our servers are designed with the latest technology to ensure high performance with low energy consumption. They can be configured with solid state hard drives (SSD), which expends less energy than the traditional hard disk drives (HDD). The SSD is also generally faster and more effective than HDD. It expends less energy due to its nature of not spinning the way a HDD does.
You have four options for a driver interface when choosing a low power server. These options are SAS, SATA, 12gb SAS and NVMe. SAS generally performs better than SATA, in terms of speed and efficiency. However, SATA is less expensive and has a large storage capacity. SAS has an alternative 12gb version, while SATA is capped at a 6gb version.
NVMe is an advancement on even SAS, being able to perform at an even faster speed. For example, NVMe requires only one message to send for 4KB transfers. This is as opposed to sending two messages, like other driver interfaces. NVMe can also process multiple queues at once, rather than just one. In fact, it can process up to 65,536 queues at a time. NVMe is particularly effective for servers, as they generally process many I/O requests at once.
You have the option to configure your low power server to come without a fan. Fans often take a quite a bit of energy to use, especially if they run often. A system that is configured to be fan-less can cool itself using a heat sink. A heat sink works by flowing the heat off the components to flow through it and out into the air.
Another option you can find in the Broadberry line of low power servers is the location of the I/O ports. As you continue to configure, you get the option of having front I/O ports, rather than rear. This can be preferable, depending on the rest of your setup and the data centre you are going to be using.
Broadberry is the premier provider of low power servers, with a wide range of options available. Every business is different and each one has their own needs. We understand that, and offer our customers the option to configure their own systems, with hundreds of potential combinations.
We differ from many of the competitors in the industry, as our low power servers still maintain a high level of performance. As far as we are concerned, low power does not have to mean compromised performance. We combine the best of both worlds and you can rely on your system to save energy but also perform at very high standards.
Before leaving our UK workshop, all Broadberry server and storage solutions undergo a rigorous 48 hour testing procedure. This, along with the high-quality industry leading components ensures all of our server and storage solutions meet the strictest quality guidelines demanded from us.
